 Family Reading Initiative

Mt. Olive first grader Blake Mostafavi won first place in the Family Reading Initiative for JefCoEd and won $100 savings bond.  Last year he was third place winner and his brother Ben was a winner for three years.  He read 1,314 books and his parents are Mohsen and Sheila Mostafavi.  His media specialist is Terri Culp.

 

 

 

Pinson Elementary First Grader Vinnie Garcia is second place JefCoEd winner
Pinson Elementary first grader Vinnie Garcia read 554 books to win $75 in the JefCoEd Family Reading Initiative.  He was honored January 28 with his Mom Jacqueline Mitchem in attendance.  Pictured with Vinnie are Carolyn Blackwell, deputy superintendent, Board President Jennifer Parson, and Superintendent Phil Hammonds.

 

 

 

 

Third place winners in the Family Reading Initiative Warrior students from the McMichael family.  They are second grader, Autumn McMichael, and kindergartener, Shelby McMichael.  Together the sisters read 387 books and their school media specialist is Andrea Pedigo.  They are the children of Bonnie and B.J. McMichael.  Pictured are Carolyn Blackwell, interim deputy superintendent, Board President Jennifer Parsons, and Superintendent Phil Hammonds.
